Morris Plains Coronavirus Update For Friday - May 15, 2020

I thank you for the weeks you have maintained social distancing and staying home unless you needed to shop or get some exercise which has helped our community in aiding to flatten the COVID-19 curve.

This weekend, I hope that you will get to enjoy the spring weather in the parks and on walking trails for passive recreation, athletic fields, playgrounds, and restrooms remain closed. Take time to walk around the ponds too. Please continue to follow all guidelines and protocols, including wearing a face mask and social distancing guidelines. Please be patient with each other when out enjoying the sun and fresh air, we are all still scared and frustrated with this situation.

Police Appreciation Week

Across the country, this week we recognize police officers.   May 10 through May 16, 2020, is National Police Week. Please take the time to share thanks to our dedicated Morris Plains Officers.

NJ Firemen’s Home

Terry Carroll, on behalf of the NJ Firemen’s Home, shares grateful thanks for the masks, gloves, gowns and food donations. Thank you to the many caring residents who made donations. Again, thank you.

Recycling Center

Be reminded that the Recycling Center is not being staffed with volunteers to assist with recyclables. Please consider using weekly, Tuesdays, curbside recyclable collection. The Recycling Center will be closed Saturday, May 23, 2020

MCMUA Household Hazardous Waste

The MCMUA has canceled its Household Hazardous Waste event scheduled for May 16, 2020 at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy.

The order form for Tuesday, May 18, 2020 (pick-up day change from Mondays to Tuesdays) can be found at www.ortfarmsestore.com. Pick-up is at the Morris Plains Library, 77 Glenbrook Road (enter at Mountain Way driveway). 

Place the name of the order in windshield

The order will be placed in your trunk.

A thru J - 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM                  
K thru Z - 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM
