Mr. Dave Visscher
Mr. Lloyd Williams, Chairman
Absent: Mr. Donald Salerno
Mr. Lawrence Travaglia
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mr. Williams called the meeting to order. He stated that adequate notice of this meeting has been posted and published in accordance with Chapter 231 of the Public Law of 1975, "Open Public Meetings Act."
Mrs. Law asked about the third page under budget – is she correct that some dollar figure from 2009 has been applied to this budget? What is that amount?
Mr. Williams advised that the budget was overspent by approximately $1,000. The Treasurer took this amount out of the Commission’s 2010 budget.
The Commission Secretary provided additional information on what the precise amount was ($1,030).
Mrs. Law asked if the $38,970 figure is "real".
The Commission Secretary advised that the $38,970 amount includes the purchase orders that were done in February. The amount of the 2010 Commission budget is $38,970. The 2009 amount was taken out.
Mrs. Law moved that the minutes of the February 3, 2010 meeting be accepted as presented, seconded by Mr. Visscher. Voice vote. All in favor. Motion carried.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Mr. Williams noted the Commission has just discussed budget issues (see under Minutes). He advised he talked with Mr. Banks, Treasurer, to find out what the Commission can spend prior to the official approval of the budget. Mr. Banks advised the amount is $10,000.
Mr. Williams advised that Mr. Tony Cerbo called to advise he has jobs available if anyone might be seeking one. The jobs primarily are jobs performing general work at the nursery.
TREE WORK REPORT
Mr. Williams commented on the broken limb on the tree at Roberts Park. He said it is borderline.
Cross discussion about other trees that appear to need work and pruning work that may be needed. This included a dead Sugar Maple tree, a Pine tree at One Oregon Trail that is growing into wires, and one off Beaver Ridge Road.
Mr. Williams stated he would check the trees discussed.
Mrs. Law moved that the Commission purchase order the items just discussed, seconded by Mr. Visscher. Voice vote. All in favor. Motion carried.
The Commission Secretary advised of a notification from the Morris County Soil Conservation District concerning the availability of seedlings. They are much more costly than those the Commission receives for Arbor Day. She suggested possibly getting some lilac trees.
The Commission members reviewed the seedlings available from the Morris County Soil Conservation Disrtrict.
There being no further business, Mrs. Law moved the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Mr. Visscher. Voice vote. All in favor. Motion carried.
