ORDINANCE NO.  15 -_2011

 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING COMPENSATION FOR FIRE INSPECTORS OFTHE BOROUGH OF MORRIS PLAINS             

BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Council of the Borough of Morris Plains, in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey, they being the Governing Body of said Borough as follows: 

SECTION 1:Effective January 1, 2012 the wage or salary for Fire Inspectors of the Borough is hereby amended and fixed as follows:     

Title                                                                                Wage 

Fire Inspectors                                                $28.00 per inspection for uses having not more                                                                        than 4,000 sq. ft. of gross floor

                                                                      area and common areas $60.00 per inspection for uses

                                                                     having more than 4,000 sq. ft. but less than 12,000 sq. ft.

                                                                     of gross floor area $100.00 per inspection fee for uses

                                                                     having more than 12,000 sq. ft. but less than 20,000 sq. ft.

                                                                     of gross floor area  $125.00 per inspection for uses having

                                                                    more than  20,000 sq. ft. of gross floor

                                                                     area $28.00 per re-inspection     

                                                                     $28.00 per hour for fire watch, court appearances,

                                                                    conducting educational programs, fire lane and

                                                                    permit inspections 

                                                                   $35.00 per inspection for residential smoke alarm

                                                                    and   carbon monoxide sensor device inspection     

                                                                   and certificate of compliance   

SECTION 2:             All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed in the extent of such inconsistency. 

SECTION 3:            If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of the Ordinance is for an reason held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such a decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the Ordinance. 

SECTION 4:            The Ordinance shall take effect immediately after final passage and publication as provided by law.
