Purpose
The Morris Plains Board of Health provides a wide range of public health services designed to promote and protect the health of Morris Plains residents.
Responsibilities
Municipal Registrar
The Morris Plains Board of Health Boonton Health employs a Registrar who assists the public with birth, death and marriage certificates and marriage license applications. The Registrar also issues dog and cat licenses; retail food licenses and assists residents with related complaints.

Environmental Health
The Morris Plains Board of Health has a shared service agreement with the County of Morris Division of Public that provides Registered Environmental Health Specialists that work to ensure the proper handling of food is maintained in all retail food establishments and to investigate resident complaints.

Public Health Nursing
The Morris Plains Board of Health employs a Public Health Nurse who administers vaccines, investigates communicable diseases, promotes and administers health screenings and monitors immunizations in schools. See right sidebar for contact info.
Blood pressure screenings are currently held the 2nd Monday of every month from 1-3pm at the community center for seniors and the 4th Wednesday of every month from 10-12pm at the Morris Plains Library.
Health Education
In collaboration with the Morris Plains Public Health Nurse, the Board of Health works to inform the community of current health issues and acts as a point of reference for health education. Specific areas of focus are preventative efforts to eliminate drug and alcohol abuse, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and the planning and execution of community programs.

Meetings
The Board of Health meets every second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm at Borough Hall. All meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
