NJ Transit Train Service

Morris Plains Station

Speedwell Avenue and Franklin Place, Morris Plains

The Morris Plains Train Station, built in 1848, is on the Morristown Line, one of NJ Transit‘s commuter rail lines that run along the Morris & Essex Lines. This line offers in-bound and out-bound weekday and weekend trains to New York City and Dover, NJ. East-bound trains including Midtown Direct trains use the Kearny Connection (opened June 10, 1996) to Secaucus Junction and New York Penn Station; the rest go to Hoboken Terminal. Passengers can transfer at Newark Broad Street or Summit to reach the other destination. On rail system maps the line is colored dark green, and its symbol is a drum, a reference to Morristown’s history during the American Revolution.

TransOptions offers bicycle locker rentals at Chatham, Convent, Denville, Dover, Madison, Morris Plains, and Morristown train stations.

Bicycle parking is also available at the train station.
