Morris Plains Rotary Club

This organization operates in the Borough of Morris Plains but is not affiliated with the Borough government.

Purpose

Founded in 1973, the Morris Plains Rotary Club is part of Rotary International, the world’s oldest international volunteer charity organization.   Founded in 1905, Rotary International has over 1.2 million members in over 200 countries and territories throughout the world.

Since its inception, the Morris Plains Rotary Club has supported many Morris Plains community programs including youth sports, scholarships, the Public Library, substance abuse prevention, medical and health programs, the Interfaith Food Pantry etc.  It has also built several community projects including the playground at Simons Park and the Picnic Pavilion at Community Park to name just two.

The Rotary Club is devoted to improving the quality of life in Morris Plains and around the world, and to have a good time while doing so.  Making friends and building relationships both locally and abroad are among the goals of the organization.

Projects include:

We sponsor the Morris Area Community Blood Program, which collects over 1,000 pints of blood annually for area hospitals at its twice-monthly blood drives in Morris Plains.

We provide Medical Alert emergency signaling devices for elderly residents of Morris Plains and Morris Township without charge to the resident.

We give annual scholarships to local students to assist with their further education, and community service awards to graduating 8th Grade and High School students to recognize their commitment to the community
